On his 70th birthday, Japan's legendary fixer, Ryutaro, must quiet a journalist who threatens to expose circumstances around the death of a politician's son; Ryutaro's children deal with their relationships and celebrate their father's birthday.

Ryutaro must help the prime minister with the succession plans of her party and the passing of her final legislative bill; Ichiro's mistress turns out to be working with Taka, who makes mysterious contact with various members of Ryutaro's family.
