During the Industrial Revolution, mankind is threatened by the sudden emergence of undead monsters called Kabane, who can only be killed by piercing their heart through an iron plate.

Immortal monsters have attacked Aragane Station, so steamsmith Ikoma runs to fight them.
EPISODE 2
Never-Ending Night
Ikoma survives and heads towards the last Hayajiro left in Kenkin Station: the Kotetsujyo.
EPISODE 3
Prayer Offer
The Kotetsujyo heads for Kongokaku after escaping Kenkin Station; the people on the Kotetsujyo turn against Ikoma and Mumei, attempting to drive them from the train.
EPISODE 4
Flowing Blood
The Kabane attack, and among them is a Kabane which becomes stronger after each battle.
EPISODE 5
Inescapable Darkness
The Kotetsujyo picks up survivors from Yatsushiro Station, which has been destroyed by the Kabane.
EPISODE 6
Gathering Light
The Kotetsujyo faces a giant cluster of Kabane, while Ikoma and Mumei are at an abandoned station.
