Paquita la del Barrio

Paquita celebrates her 45th anniversary as a professional singer at the national auditorium; her memories take her back to Alto Lucero, Veracruz, in 1957, where Chica, a chubby girl who does not fit in her dress, sings in front of the mirror.

Chica tells Lupita that she is lovesick; Viola tells Clara about what happened with Chica, so she suggest casting a love spell on Chica and Camilo; Chica believes Antonio wants to take her out of the country when she finds a couple of boat tickets.

After the guys completely destroy the wedding cake while playing soccer, Chica bakes another one following her grandmother's recipe; unfortunately, her cake makes all the guests sick.

Clara smashes one of Dalia's windows with a stone to which she stuck an anonymous note for Jesús; Lucía fixes the dress Chica is going to wear at the talent contest.

Chica pays Griselda a visit to exchange her bike for a tortilla-making machine; at first, Griselda does not like the idea, but Camilo talks her into doing it; Grandma Engracia supports Chica's idea of dropping school to start working.

Clara tries to seduce Camilo, but he rejects her; Chica panics when Mr. Honorio asks her to perform that night; Chica is surprised to see Manuel again.
