As a musician, Arthur Baker's entertaining and creative music was in a variety of Hollywood productions. Baker began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the musical "Beat Street" (1984) with Rae Dawn Chong, the action movie "The Goonies" (1985) with Sean Astin and "Sudden Death" (1985) with Denise Coward. His music also appeared in the Molly Ringwald comedy "Pretty in Pink" (1986), the comedic adventure "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986) with Matthew Broderick and the comedic drama "Something Wild" (1986) with Jeff Daniels. In the eighties and the nineties, Baker devoted his time to various credits, such as "Salvation! Have You Said Your Prayers Today?" (1987), "Permanent Record" (1988) and "Listen Up" (1990). He also worked on "Straight Out of Brooklyn" with George T Odom (1991). Baker's music was also featured in the Julia Stiles drama "Save the Last Dance" (2001), "Brown Sugar" (2002) with Taye Diggs and the Cedric The Entertainer comedy adaptation "The Honeymooners" (2005).
