София Пернас

Sofia Pernas was born in Fes, Morocco, to a Moroccan mother and Spanish father, and might be best known for her recurring roles on the television shows "Jane the Virgin" (The CW, 2014-) and "The Young and the Restless" (CBS, 1973-). She traveled a lot during her formative years, and decided on a career in journalism, which would allow her to both simultaneously travel the world while exploring different types of people and cultures. Her plans changed, however, when a modeling agent discovered Pernas randomly. Ever the adventurous type, she signed with the agent and quickly began a career as a professional model, which soon led to acting work. Pernas immediately found that she loved acting and decided to put her journalism aspirations on hold, despite the objections of her parents. Right out the gates she landed two movie roles in "Age of the Dragons" (2011) and "Underground" (2011), which quickly set her professional acting career off with a blast. Two years later Pernas followed those roles up with parts in "Indigenous" (2014) and "Operation Rogue" (2014), thus further establishing herself as young actress on the rise. Then in 2015 Pernas nabbed her first big break when she nabbed a recurring role on the long-running daytime soap opera "The Young and the Restless." Pernas played Marisa Sierras on eight episodes of the show. She followed that up with a recurring part in the popular series "Jane the Virgin." Pernas played Catalina on the Emmy-nominated series. Pernas returned to film acting with a supporting role in the adventure comedy "The Green Ghost" (2017).
