Marilyn

Life does not hold much variety for young Marcos (17) a farmer’s son in rural Argentina. His daily life is determined by going to school and helping out at his family’s hard cattle business. And in spite of the fact that Marcos does not only support his mother with the household but also with needlework and haircare, his conservative and homophobic family only knows clear gender roles: man and woman. Marcos, however, feels differently. He is interested in boys and therefore secretly slips into the role of pretty "Marilyn" for carnival. Only then, as Marilyn, can Marcos finally flirt with boys, dance, laugh and just be himself in a carefree manner. However, because of his homosexual tendencies, Marcos soon experiences violence and rejection from family and peers, but he also finds his first love in handsome Federico. Yet, as his surroundings turn more and more hostile towards him and begin to corner him emotionally, Marcos finds himself forced to break out of his crushing life.
