Antoinette Robinson
Antoinette Robertson was born to Jamaican parents in The Bronx, NY, and raised between Florida and Jamaica. Though Antoinette studied chemistry at Stony Brook University, it was during college when she discovered her fondness for performance, allowing an elective course in theater to inspire the acting career she'd go on to pursue. After graduation, she enrolled in the William Esper Studio in New York City for two years to hone her acting talent; her first screen credits took the form of short films like "Eros" (2010) and "Alterations" (2011), and she made her feature acting debut in the drama film "Bittersweets" (2011). Not long after, Robertston landed a recurring role on the comedy-drama series "Hart of Dixie" (CBS 2011-15), playing the character Lynn Hayes throughout the run of the show's third season. From there, she leapt to the crime drama series "The Haves and the Have Nots" (OWN 2013-) with the regular character Melissa. After spending three years with the show, Robertson landed a costarring role on the comedy-drama series "Dear White People" (Netflix 2017-), a series based on the 2014 film of the same name. Robertson inherited the character Coco Connors, an aspiring reality television personality, from the film's star Teyonah Parris.
