Hollingsworth Morse

Hollingsworth Morse was a prolific television director during the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. He started out as an assistant director on World War II-era Western short films such as "Dudes Are Pretty People" and "Prairie Chickens," and branched out into directing TV during the '50s. Morse helmed dozens of episodes of the iconic Western series "The Lone Ranger," as well as installments of the sci-fi show "Rocky Jones, Space Ranger." Given his knack for adventure serials, Morse also directed many episodes of the Western show "Broken Arrow" and the swashbuckler series "Zorro." Beginning in the late '50s, Morse worked for a long stint on the popular children's drama "Lassie," and he also became a key contributor to the military comedy show "McHale's Navy." In '69, he directed the psychedelic kids' series "H.R. Pufnstuf" and, during that era, he also worked on the popular cop show "Adam-12." Towards the end of his career, Morse directed episodes of "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "The Fall Guy," and he died in '88 with a remarkably impressive television resume.
