Saundra Santiago

An accomplished Broadway actress who also has made her mark on television, Saundra Santiago had a bit part in the drama "The End of August" and a supporting role in the hip-hop movie "Beat Street" before being cast on the hit show "Miami Vice" in 1984. As Detective Gina Calabrese, she had a co-starring role on the Miami-set show throughout its long run. In the '90s, Santiago kept a lower profile, appearing in several TV movies and in the 1997 romantic comedy "Nick and Jane." But in 1999, she accepted two recurring roles; on the daytime drama "Guiding Light" and on HBO's gangster hit, "The Sopranos." After the end of "The Sopranos," she found work on the Glenn Close legal drama "Damages" while also continuing her recurring role on the soap "One Life to Live." Santiago's Broadway credits, meanwhile, include the Tony Award-winning musical "NINE" and Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge."
