Andrew Solomon

Andrew Solomon developed an interest in music as a child and was writing songs on the piano by the age of ten. He first turned to scoring for movies and television, with three of his efforts for student films appearing on PBS by the time he was 16; at 21, he scored an Academy Award-winning animated short, Patronized. For TV, his music has also been heard on the Fox News Channel, CNBC, and ABC. But upon his graduation from Dartmouth, Solomon switched gears and pursued a career as a singer/songwriter. (Meanwhile, to support himself, he worked as an investment banker and attended Harvard Business School.) He self-released his debut EP, Andrew Solomon, in 1999; Ann Ruckert covered "Leap of Faith," a song from it, on her 2000 album 13 Stories Over Times Square. Solomon's second EP, Two, appeared in 2003, and his first full-length album, Something More, on April 28, 2009. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
