The Eyes of My Mother
In their secluded farmhouse, a mother and former surgeon, teaches her daughter, Francisca, to understand human anatomy and be indifferent to death. One afternoon, a mysterious visitor shatters Francisca's family life, deeply traumatizing the young girl, and awakening some unique curiosities. Though she clings to her increasingly distant father to keep her sane, Francisca's loneliness and scarred nature comes to haunt her years later when her longing to connect with the world around her takes on a dark and dangerous form. Shot in crisp black and white, the haunting visual composition from rising star Nicholas Pesce invokes memories and style of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.
