S10 E1: Three years ago, professional BMX'er Daniel Dhers was an unknown rider from, of all places, Venezuela - not exactly a hot bed for BMX. Since then he has burst onto the US contest scene with unparalleled consistency and unbeatable trick combinations. In the past 3 years, Daniel has won every title in BMX park: World Championships, Dew Tour Cups, and two X Games Gold Medals. Dhers is an unabashed contest rider, who thrives on pushing himself to be the best, even when it's an everyday riding session. In this episode of Firsthand, we join Daniel in his off season as he travels back to Venezuela, showing the roots of his BMX origins: sketchy ramps and sketchier locations. From Caracas, it's off to Tallinn, Estonia, for the Simpel Session, a different kind of contest where fun is top priority. Before he knows it, Daniel is on plane set for Joplin, Missouri, where he encounters one of the best skate park's in the world at the annual JoMoPro BMX contest. Then it's back to his new home at Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania. Here Dhers rides with good friends such as Jamie Bestwick and Anthony Napolitan. These sessions prepare Daniel for the AST Dew Tour in Baltimore, Maryland, where his determination is tested after a heavy slam.
