S2, E20: Mel (VIC TAYBACK) is celebrating his fiftieth birthday and is expecting a surprise party. When it seems it is not going to happen, he is disappointed; but Alice (LINDA LAVIN) and the gang finally get him, and the party becomes a "roast."
