S1 E7: While in CIA custody, Sato interrogates Mal'akh to find out how he evolved from Zachary Solomon to the monster he is today. In flashback, Zach learns his father won't be coming to his rescue, allowing him to fall under the spell of mystic Samyaza. Later Zach learns Peter and Bellamy are indeed working towards his release, but when his new mentor finds out, he beats him and leaves him for dead. Transformed, he gets plastic surgery and covers his body in tattoos, finally becoming Mal'akh. Meanwhile, as Peter works to free his son, Langdon considers proposing to Katherine. But when she dives into her noetic research as a way to cope, he realizes they're too different to go the distance.
