Paying My Last Respects

S1 E2: At the Starburst Tournament in Waco, Texas, Sachin takes on his rival, Awesome, while his dad tries to keep him focused on the game. Awesome and his family are more worried about consistency and bringing his weight up. Their family lacks the funds of many of the competitors, so they put everything they have into helping him succeed. Meanwhile, 7-year-old Avery and her dad are preparing for the same tournament, where Avery will be battling girls two to three years her senior. Not that she’s worried. She decides to dress in all black to “pay her respects” to the doomed competition, giving her an edge unless her attitude—or a looming thunderstorm—gets in the way.
