Skippy and the Rivals

S1 E30: Sibling rivalry is a part of growing up, but when Jerry and Lou find out that the prize for coming first in the Junior Ranger’s competition is a trip to Perth, they pull out all stops in an effort to be the winner. To the detriment of their school work, their chores around Habitat, and even their friends, they both strive to be the one who ends up with the most points at the end of the competition. When it is time for the winner to be announced, everyone is sure that it will be either Jerry or Lou. But then Ranger Dave tells the kids that the purpose of the contest was more than just getting the most points. The purpose of the contest was to find the one who best u!nderstood what it means to be a Junior Ranger, the one who showed the best understanding of their environment, and how to get along in it and with other people. Elyse Hamilton is the winner, and Jerry and Lou learn that pushing your way to the front of the line does not necessarily make you a winner.
