S1 E1: Throughout the animal kingdom, the sense of sight has been honed by evolution over millions of years to give creatures that extra edge to meet the challenges of their environment. From the African savanna to the skies of North America to the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, we examine the role eyesight plays in the wild, including cheetahs, who hunt using their 3D vision, impalas, who detect danger by seeing in panoramic widescreen, pigeons who find food using tetrachromatic vision, and sea urchins whose entire body is one giant compound eye.
