Through the Time Barrier

S3 E1: Professor Twiddle, an eccentric inventor, has contrived a time machine with which he transports himself and five others back 50,000 years to the caveman era in the Superman drama, "Through the Time Barrier." Making the trip with Twiddle are Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Editor Perry White and an important hoodlum named Turk. Arriving in a strange prehistoric land and befriended by cave dwellers, the Professor makes the awful discovery that he is unable to reverse the time machine's mechanism to return the group back to the 20th century. Even Clark Kent, who is compelled to transform himself to Superman to keep the gangster in line, is baffled. With all his great powers, Superman finds he is unable to crash the time barrier and aid his stranded companions. Only after the Professor determines that an element found in meteorites is needed to reverse the time machine is Superman able to help. The "Man of Steel" procures the necessary Caborium X and the Professor is able to reverse his time machine.
