S5 E2: Steven Newman, the CEO of Loehmann’s department stores is going undercover posing as “Henry”, a contestant on a reality competition show trying to win money to open up his own pet store. A born and bred New Yorker, self-confessed shopaholic, Steven has a true passion for fashion, and has been in the retail business since he was 22 years old. He is the first openly gay boss on Undercover Boss history, living the dream in New York with his partner Steve. Steven joined Loehmann’s 2 years ago, and his mission is to make sure people know that Loehmann’s is still around and that it’s the best kept secret in high fashion retail. He joined the Loehmann’s team shortly after they declared bankruptcy, with plans to reinvigorate the brand by modernizing the stores and creating online shopping. He heads out to the front lines of his company, to make sure the stores are implementing his plans and learns firsthand that the employees are the real foundation of his company.
