Honey, They're After Me Lucky Charms

S1 E8: Nick's first attempt at inventing, the Szalinski Jr. Phenomenometer (pat. pending), reflects the boy's interest in luck, magic and other fantastic phenomenon. The gadget doesn't work, but Wayne encourages Nick to believe in himself. Later Wayne and his boss, Mr. Jennings, are testing Wayne's newest -- the Szalinski Finder '49er (pat. pending) -- in an old abandoned mine and discover an actual pot of gold. Wayne wants to turn it over to the police, but a visitation from a leprechaun splits the Szalinski household into believers of magic versus science. The little leprechaun turns out to be a con-artist, just as Wayne suspected, but then five real, full-sized leprechauns show up looking for their pot o' gold. The Irish fairies imprison Diane and Amy in the magic crystal on their shillelagh. Wayne's belief in Nick helps him defeat the leprechaun gang, and as legend dictates, since the gold was returned, he's granted one wish.
