Pontarlier is a mountain town situated at an altitude of 837m in the heart of the Jura mountains. Capital of the Haut-Doubs, Pontarlier is the entrance to a very large protected natural area, where forests, lakes and green pastures, essential for the production of Mont d'Or and Comté cheese, are found side by side.
