Based on the successful 2008 novel by Greg Kincaid, this holiday classic tells the story of George McCray, (Bruce Greenwood — Star Trek), who refuses to buy a dog for his special needs son, Todd, (Noel Fisher — The Riches), fearing that he would not be able to care for it. However, with persistence and the support of his mother, Mary Ann, (Linda Emond — Julie & Julia) Todd eventually gets his wish and the McCrays foster an adorable golden Labrador through the local animal shelter. Due to the time of year they decide to call him Christmas, but will he become a permanent member of the family?
