A Mother's Plea
A Mother’s Plea was inspired by characters created in a stage play. The film examines the following “what if’s”: What if you are accused of committing a crime because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time? What if you knew you were innocent but circumstantial evidence points to you being guilty? A Mother’s Plea is a film that has its audience asking those questions. The film centers around Brandon Pope, a graduate student with a promising future until one unfortunate incident turns his dreams into a nightmare. Mistakenly accused of armed robbery and murder and appears Brandon is wrongfully incarcerated and faces life in prison. Desperate for help he turns to his mother, who believes her only son is innocent and will do anything to keep him out of prison. The film explores gray areas in Brandon’s investigation and court case he everyone assumes is innocent with the exception of the criminal justice system. Brandon’s mother, Gabrielle Pope, works hard to prove his innocence. But time is running out. Will the judge and jury believe her? Will you believe her? This film will have you on the edge of your seat as you try and guess was Brandon innocent or guilty.
