British Rally Championship Review 2011
Available on Tubi TV
The Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship is always unpredictable, but the 2011 season proved to be one of the most difficult to call for many years. Two of the rising stars of British rallying quickly emerged as title favourites, and they put on a scintillating championship fight right down to the very last day. David Bogie and co-driver Kevin Rae performed superbly in the Mitsubishi Lancer to take the upper hand on the early rounds, but they were kept under pressure all the way by the Subaru Impreza of Elfyn Evans and co-driver Andrew Edwards. Plus, the all-new Formula 2 Championship produced fireworks all year, including an unexpected victory for one of the two-wheel-drive pocket rockets over the more powerful four-wheel-drive S2000 cars. Extensive coverage of all six rounds of the 2011 BRC season brings you the full story, with thrilling footage, plenty of in-car action and interviews taking you inside the scintillating battles in both classes. The championship took drivers and teams around Britain, calling in at Bournemouth, the Scottish borders, North Wales, Carlisle, Yorkshire and Northern Ireland. From forests to country roads; on gravel, tarmac and mud; in ever-changing weather conditions – our cameras were there as every moment of the vital drama unfolded. The tension-packed championships took an unexpected twist with the late cancellation of Rally Isle of Man – making the Yorkshire Rally a nail-biting showdown for the titles. In addition to the ever-popular Subarus and Mitsubishis, the British Rally Championship featured many more well-known makes and models in action, including Citroens, Skodas, Renaults and Fords. As ever, the Official Review is packed with the very best footage from every rally, with presentation by former rally ace Robbie Head and Mike Brewer.
