Closer to Heaven

Lee Ji Soo (Ha Ji Won), a funeral director with two divorces behind her, unexpectedly reconnects with Baek Jong Woo (Kim Myung Min) when she is commissioned to conduct his mother's funeral service. Despite Baek Jong Woo's long-standing battle with Lou Gehrig's disease since his teens, the two fall deeply in love and decide to marry. As his health rapidly deteriorates, Jong Woo attempts to push Ji Soo away to protect her from the pain of watching him decline, but she remains steadfastly committed to their love. Their poignant journey explores the depths of unconditional love in the face of terminal illness. This is a 2009 South Korean emotional drama written and directed by Park Jin Pyo.
