Journey from Zanskar
Our film tells the suspenseful story of 17 small children, leaving home and family possibly forever, traveling by foot over 17,000 foot Himalayan passes, all in order to save their dying Tibetan culture. Working in one of the most remote and desolate places on Earth – Zanskar, in northwest India – the monks who lead the expedition walked this same path 30 years ago when they were children. From Academy and Emmy nominated filmmaker Frederick Marx (Hoop Dreams), narrated by Richard Gere, featuring the Dalai Lama, this is the story of their incredible journey.
