Police rush to the Murdaugh's home after Alex Murdaugh (Bill Pullman) called and reported his wife Maggie (Lauren Robek) and son Paul (Curtis Tweedie) dead. With police and press digging into Alex's life and law firm for leads, he attempts to derail their investigation by creating false alibis, bribing witnesses, and faking a drive-by shooting. Despite his efforts, the police gather enough evidence to arrest Alex for the double homicide of his wife and son, and many other financial crimes. Alex fights the stacks evidence and witness testimonies against him, maintaining his innocence throughout his six-week trial.
