The Black Hole
Available on FilmRise, Prime Video, Amazon Freevee
Midwestern Quantum Research Laboratory, St. Louis: An experiment at the facility's particles accelerator goes terribly wrong, resulting in the formation of a Black Hole here on earth, and the death of its leading scientist, William Hauser. Physicist Eric Bryce is called in by co-worker and former love interest, Shannon Muir, to help resolve the situation. Arriving at the laboratory, Eric is met by a team of government officials, led by hard-edges Major William Ryker, intent on trying to eliminate the Black Hole with a full nuclear strike. Knowing a nuclear strike will only worsen the situation (and cause the death of thousands of St. Louis residents), Bryce convinces Ryker to give him some time to formulate an alternative plan. Bryce and Shannon go to work, searching Hauser's office for some clue as to how to close the Hole, unaware that its creation also resulted in the release of an other worldly creature which has now escape from the facility and its loose on the streets of St. Louis, feeding off electricity from the power grid. After finding out about the creature on a news broadcast, Bryce becomes convinced that it and the Black Hole are inextricably connected. The only way to save St. Louis ( and the entire world) is to force the creature back into the Hole, thereby bending space time and bending both creature and Hole to some other part of the Universe.
