Desperate, Tony is ready to sink to crime to pay a few bills, but he botches even that, and is victimized by the sinister drug chemist, Art (William Katt). At Tony's darkest hour his friend Jerry (Elliott Gould) is there to save him. Jerry, a retired comic actor, forces Tony to face his own demons and embark on total personal transformation. Jerry makes Tony sing again. Tony must come to terms with his son, Mike (Cody Kasch). Can Mike ever believe in his father's redemption after so many disappointments? Because his life is in such shambles, Tony disqualifies himself from love. He dreams of approaching a local waitress, Leah (Nikki Ziering), but only after hitting bottom and with nothing left to lose does he gather the courage to speak. . . "The Encore of Tony Duran" reminds us that it is never too late-- to sing, to find love, to make peace. . . or to grasp any dream, great or small.
