Fyodor Karamazov is dying and holed up in his oceanfront home with Liz, his loyal caretaker, when his three estranged and impassioned children return home to settle a financial dispute. Despite carving out new lives for themselves (Aly has found refuge in religion, Viv is a queer intellectual, and Dmitri, a charismatic screw-up) each is in the midst of their own personal crises which further unravel as they get reacquainted with each other and their family’s troubled past. Part murder mystery, part spiritual quest, The Karamazovs follows Liz who pieces together memories of that eventful week in this contemporary American adaptation inspired by Dostoevsky's classic.
