Laura has long been divorced from her theater-critic husband Alfred, though they still see one another from time to time. One day, while working at the icon museum she directs, Laura strikes up a conversation with Sylvia and soon after they end up in bed together. This begins to lead to problems because of Sylvia's age and her relationship with Alfred.
