Ven. Jian Zhen
A Buddhist monk in the Tang Dynasty, Ven. Jian Zhen arrived in Japan to promote the Buddhist doctrines, sutras, and precepts after five failed attempts resulting from various reasons. How his unwavering spirit contributed not only to the spread of Buddhist in Japan, but to the medical knowledge and architecture to the country can be seen in this film.
