Widespread Panic: Wood Tour—Denver, CO, The Fillmore, February 10, 2012
Available on Prime Video
Fans knew they were in for a treat with Widespread Panic closing out a historic three-night stand under the purple chandeliers of The Fillmore in Denver on their first-ever all acoustic tour. Realizing the uniqueness of this special Sunday night the band had a few surprises in store. In the first set, they decided to play a few time tricks with their audience and introduce them to The Rolling Stones' Time Waits for No One. For the second set they rolled out a new original, stretched out on a Traffic classic and finally gave fans an acoustic take on the mountain favorite of Surprise Valley. A truly epic encore mixed the rarely played original When You Coming Home with a heartfelt take on the Jimmy Cliff classic Many Rivers To Cross. The band had one more surprise in store as they sent the sold-out crowd off with a raucous first ever take on The Rolling Stones' You Can't Always Get What You Want. Complete song listing from the film: First Set: Hope In A Hopeless World, Porch Song, Ain't Life Grand, Time Waits For No One, Time Waits, Time Zones, Carmelita, True To My Nature, Visiting Day, Makes Sense To Me. Second Set: Surprise Valley, Pilgrims, Crazy, Contentment Blues, Let's Roll, Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys, Airplane, Dream Song, Blight, Travelin' Light, Blackout Blues. Encore: When You Coming Home, Many Rivers To Cross, You Can't Always Get What You Want. The filmmakers chose to archive this historic performance using RED Digital Cinema cameras, the same ones used for major motion picture releases. These cameras captured the performances in rich 4K resolution, providing the viewer with superior picture quality to 35mm. Specific lenses were chosen to best convey the artistic nature of the material. To achieve the true live concert sound, the audio was digitally recorded with a stereo mix combining the front of house mixing console with microphones placed throughout the room. You'll see, hear, and feel the difference.
