Josie Maran
After gracing the pages of some of the biggest magazines, including multiple covers of Glamour and appearances in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue, Josie Maran became best known for being the first contestant voted off - some felt, unfairly - the fifth season of "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC, 2005-). In addition to landing numerous covers with her fresh-faced beauty, Maran was featured in national ad campaigns for Guess and Maybelline, and appeared in such films as "The Aviator" (2004) and "Van Helsing" (2004). Also a busy entrepreneur, activist and mom, Maran launched her eponymous eco-chic cosmetic line, Josie Maran Cosmetics, in the fall of 2007, and was a spokesperson for the national environmental organization, Global Green. Although her stint on "Dancing was brief, Maran was paired with Season One winner Alec Mazo, dancing a lovely number before getting cut - more for being one of the lesser known celebrities on the stage than for a perceived lack of dance talent.
