Nova (Rutina Wesley) and Robert’s (Alimi Ballard) relationship takes an unexpected turn during an on-air interview, which leaves Nova feeling disrespected. Darla (Bianca Lawson) and Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) have different visions of their wedding, which is impacted by Darla’s relationship with her parents. Though Ralph Angel and Violet (Tina Lifford) encourage Darla to change her mind, Ralph Angel hits a financial setback upon learning the farm did not profit. Meanwhile, Davis (Timon Durrett) visits a doctor about his hand, and he’s alarmed by the prognosis. He later encounters Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner), whose plans for her harvest festival have been disrupted. With Davis’ encouragement, she turns things around. Charley later discovers Davis’ new relationship, and in turn Davis realizes she’s moved on with Remy (Dondré T. Whitfield). Finally, Davis offers Charley a sincere apology.
Charley’s (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) relationship with Remy (Dondré T. Whitfield) is threatened when she discovers that a business loan is contingent on the involvement of her estranged husband, Davis (Timon Kyle Durrett). She later sees Davis on a date during her girls’ night out with Nova (Rutina Wesley) and Aunt Violet (Tina Lifford), and a confrontation ensues. Micah (Nicholas L. Ashe) is pulled over by a police officer in his expensive new car, and Davis uses his star power to secure his release, which upsets Charley. The concern over Micah pushes Aunt Violet to reach out to Hollywood (Omar J. Dorsey) to finally confess her feelings. Plus, Nova mourns the end of her relationship with Calvin (Greg Vaughan) by seeking comfort with new companions. She also holds a community fundraiser. Later, Darla (Bianca Lawson) reaches a decision about her relationship with Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) and Charley makes a huge personal decision.
As the siblings work together to repair any damage caused by the storm, Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner), Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe) and Remy (Dondré T. Whitfield) are shocked to discover two dead bodies on their property. When the police begin to investigate, Charley questions her own moral compass. Nova also investigates their death, and the siblings later unite to tell their fellow workers about the tragedy. Meanwhile, Aunt Violet (Tina Lifford) objects to Darla’s (Bianca Lawson) continued presence in their home, and when she refuses to relinquish guardianship of Blue (Ethan Hutchison), Hollywood (Omar J. Dorsey) encourages her to look at things in a different light.
Ralph Angel receives unexpected news, the correctional facility’s fate is revealed, and Charley makes a proposal for the farmers. Plus, Violet and Hollywood celebrate their love.
Violet (Tina Lifford) celebrates her 60th birthday at Ralph Angel’s (Kofi Siriboe) house, where Hollywood’s (Omar J. Dorsey) mother reveals her concerns about his relationship with Violet. Later, Violet makes a big concession. Ralph Angel brings Trinh to the party, but when Darla sees him with Trinh and Blue (Ethan Hutchison) at the grocery store, she asks for a custody schedule the following day. Meanwhile, Micah (Nicholas L. Ashe) and Keke (Tanyell Waivers) explore their chemistry at the party, and Nova (Rutina Wesley) and Remy (Dondré T. Whitfield) grow closer. Later, Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) clarifies her romantic intentions to Jacob Boudreaux (Lea Coco), and she then goes on a date with Romero. Elsewhere, Violet discovers that Jarrett Rawlings wants more of the business than she had anticipated, and Nova learns new information about her father. Finally, Charley learns about the Landry’s true plan for the land, and the entire Bordelon family is left devastated.
