Despite being bullied on the street by the local children, Mark sets himself the task of sleeping with the divorcee Toni next door, basing his seduction technique on the Battle of Stalingrad. But part of his plan includes humiliating his flat mate Jeremy, who vows revenge. Adult themes and strong language.

Mark and Jeremy go out to a party, where Mark strikes up conversation with a teenage "goth". The three go with Toni to a bowling alley, where Mark embarrassingly runs into Sophie, who's going out with a work colleague.

Mark begins to forge a partnership with his idol, business guru Alan Johnson, and begins to change his behaviour to be more like Johnson. Meanwhile, a displeased Jeremy tries to think back to "the bad thing" he did with Super Hans in a drug-heavy weekend.

Mark is up for promotion at work, but loses out to Sophie.

Jeremy's uncle dies from terminal illness, providing the perfect opportunity for Mark to ask Sophie to be his date to the funeral. Jeremy finds out his uncle died from a hereditary illness and worries that he might have it.

Mark and Jeremy join Sophie's dance class. Jeremy tells Toni he loves her.

Mark's lack of success with Sophie is compensated when he makes a new friend, Daryl, at the office.

Jeff is going on a work trip to Aberdeen with Sophie, and Mark, fearful that they will sleep together, becomes desperate to stop them.

Mark, determined to forget Sophie, makes an effort to go out with April - but manages to blur the line between enthusiastic new boyfriend and stalker. Jeremy joins a new band, Executioners Bong, but insists that he is neither a roadie nor the equivalent of Bez.

When Sophie tells Mark that her and Geoff are moving in together, she says that Geoff wants her and Mark to spend less time together. However, Mark uses Jeremy to get information about Geoff in order to break his relationship with Sophie apart.

Jeremy and Nancy (Rachel Blanchard) are getting married, for Visa reasons. Mark, determined to save his friend, will do whatever it takes.
