The outside world never truly sees the real Marilyn, a woman so different from her public persona. While she reveled in her stardom, she never could control her inner demons and the onslaught of mental illness she inherited from her mother Gladys (Academy Award® winner Susan Sarandon) – a woman she loves, hates and desperately wants to save.
