In the first season of Seventh Heaven we are introduced to the Camdens in "Anything You Want." They are a family of seven, who live in Glenoak, California. Protestant minister Eric Camden (Stephen Collins), and homemaker Annie (Catherine Hicks), enjoy a very loving and happy marriage as they raise their five children: rebellious Matt (Barry Watson), athletic Mary (Jessica Biel), emotional Lucy (Beverley Mitchell), inquisitive Simon (David Gallagher), and adorable little Ruthie (Mackenzie Rosman). In "Family Secrets" Annie learns that her mother was diagnosed with acute leukemia, and loses her battle with cancer in "No Funerals and a Wedding." In "See no Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil" Annie and Matt are car-jacked, Matt is afraid to leave the house, while Annie resumes her normal activities with no apparent emotional damage. Meanwhile, Mary contemplates getting a tattoo against her parents' wishes. The family must face the reality that Mary's basketball career might be over as she faces surgery and a long recovery in "Dangerous Liaisons, part 1 and 2."
