Set in modern-day France, the season opens with master thief Lupin III and Jigen infiltrating "Marco Polo", an online black market on the dark web, to steal their digital currency with the help of a teenage hacker, Ami Enan. After the successful heist, Lupin goes to gain possession of a black notebook containing extremely sensitive information about high-level political figures that everyone seems to be after. Season finale finds Lupin intending to steal the “Bloody Teardrop”, a national treasure in the south-east Asian kingdom of Padar. Worn by the royal princess, Dolma, who has befriended Ami. When a revolution threatens Dolma's life, Ami reunites with Lupin to rescue her.
