Debbie and Snip become the mother and father of the newborn litter of pups in Goondy Creek, NSW; these pups are sent to five Australian graziers, who will each attempt to train their pup in less than a year.
The five-month assessment looms, and the handlers struggle to dedicate focused time to their pups; some trainers stumble while others leap through the tasks; the pups and trainers have a long road ahead of them.
At seven months, the pups have a strong bond with their handlers; but they face big tests as they learn to herd livestock and respond to calls.
At 10 months, the dogs have hit puberty and start to show some new teenage rebelliousness; there are mixed levels of success in the assessment and one of the pups falls gravely ill.
The 12 month experiment is complete, the Australian border Collie siblings reunite for the first time to face their final challenge; it's neck and neck but one dog shines brighter than the pack and is crowned Champion Muster Dog.
