Inspector Kiera Cameron loses everything she has and finds herself on a new mission when she and eight dangerous terrorists are transported from their time in 2077 back to 2012 during the terrorist’s attempt to escape execution. She takes on a new identity and joins the VPD in order to stop the terrorists’ reign of violence. Along the way, she befriends Alec Sadler, the 17 year old who will one day grow up to create the technology her world is built upon.

Alec and Julian put their differences aside to comfort their mother in the hospital. But when Kiera sweeps in and arrests Julian, he suspects Alec of a setup and their fragile relationship is broken once again. Meanwhile Dillon's new police initiative has a no holds barred approach to getting answers out of Julian. Kiera has the perfect chance to finally put a stop to Theseus once and for all, but is killing a young man for crimes he hasn’t yet committed the right thing to do?

Using info from Garza, Kiera tracks Travis to a gathering of Julian's followers but she’s interrupted. A surprise attack by the shadowy group posing as Section Six forces Kiera to hide out with Julian's followers. When her cover is blown she is brought before him and the tables turn, Julian is now the one who holds the gun, her fate in his hands. Meanwhile Alec reactivates Travis' military chip in order to hunt him, but the hunter soon becomes the hunted.

Chaos breaks out in Vancouver when a series of cyber attacks turn the city upside down. Kiera and Carlos race to find the perpetrator while Who clues suggest Alec's own technology has something to do with it.

Travis attacks Alec and Emily at the lab and gets his hands on a second future suit. Kiera and Carlos race to meet Alec at Jason's in order to save him but end up having to fight for their own survival when the Freelancers show up. Betrayals are revealed, hidden truths uncovered, relationships torn apart and one person will pay the ultimate price for their actions.

Kiera races to connect with Alec who is seeking the truth about his past and his legacy. Standing in her way is Travis, equipped with both a working CMR and a super suit. Meanwhile Carlos is given the order to arrest Kiera for a crime he doesn't believe she committed. Alec makes his most difficult decision when he chooses between solving Kiera's dilemma or his own.

Alec travels back in time to prevent Emily's death. Kiera must follow to prevent Alec from altering history in a way that could end her chances of returning home forever. But Alec quickly sets in motion ripples that affect everyone around him - including this new timeline's already-resident Alec. Kiera arrives just in time to discover "her" Alec - now sporting a nasty scar. He's standing over another Kiera. A dead Kiera. "Scar" Alec has some explaining to do.

While Kiera investigates her own murder and deals with two Alecs in one timeline, the mayor is kidnapped by a reunited Liber8. Carlos struggles with the reality shattering truth of Kiera's predicament.

Kiera has to solve a series of Liber8 connected bank heists, and discovers that the robbers are controlled by the recently escaped Lucas. Carlos's new and unwanted knowledge about time travel begins to affect his work. Alec discovers that Escher is his father and inherits Piron Corp.

As Kiera works to free a college student caught in a police coverup of a Kent Statestyle incident, her perspective on police behavior is thrown into question. Carlos discovers Liber8's influence reaches right inside of VPD, as Betty is exposed. Alec meets resistance to his takeover of Piron, and secures an unlikely ally in Dillon.

Kiera and Carlos work to free hostages including Dillon, taken prisoner by Liber8 at a TV Station. Meanwhile, Kellog and Alec's business alliance falls apart, turning the two men from partners to adversaries.

Kiera and an emotionally unravelling Carlos must stop Liber8 from committing a devastating chemical attack on the city. Meanwhile, Kiera finally decides one Alec has to go, and she delivers Scar Alec to the Freelancers.
