The third season of Mom premieres with "Terrorists and Gingerbread," where Christy (Anna Faris) and her mom have different ideas about forgiveness when Bonnie's (Allison Janney) estranged mother, Shirley (guest star Ellen Burstyn), suddenly wants to be a part of their lives.
Christy and Bonnie try to help Jodi (guest star Emily Osment), a teenage addict they met at their meeting. Sara Rue returns as Candace.
After Christy and Bonnie get Jodi, a recovering drug addict, back on her feet, they find themselves addicted to the rush of helping others and take on a new "project," Michelle (guest star Judy Greer).
Christy is thrilled when Violet tells her she wants to spend more time together and improve their relationship. Also, Bonnie tries to make amends with her nemesis in the building, Beverly (guest star Amy Hill). Guest star David Krumholtz returns as Violet's fiancé, Gregory.
Roscoe's parent-teacher conference leaves Christy feeling threatened by Baxter's girlfriend, Candace. Also, Bonnie tries to get her dating mojo back by flirting with an unlikely target.
Christy and Bonnie try to be supportive when Regina (recurring guest star Octavia Spencer) tells them she doesn't think she's an alcoholic. Also, Wendy tries to convince the women to attend a sober holiday dance.
