NBA player turned substitute teacher Mark Cooper (Mark Curry) is done with school and just starting out, and he has a little help from friend and love interest Vanessa Russell (Holly Robinson), his cousin, Geneva Lee (Sandra Quarterman), and her daughter, Nicole Lee (Raven-Symoné), as he navigates the challenges of becoming a substitute teacher for the first time. In season four, Mark’s cousin Geneva becomes the new high school principal, which changes the environment for Mark at the school.
