Season 5

The dramatic and controversial series “16 and Pregnant” returns with 12 new stories of girls dealing with the challenge of teen pregnancy, birth and their first few months as new mothers. This season, we are introduced to girls who encounter a range of obstacles on their journeys to becoming teen mothers: Getting pregnant after a one-night stand with a Twitter acquaintance, pushing forward with adoption despite going against the boyfriend's wishes, a traditional Mormon girl who finds out her accidental pregnancy will result in twins, a girl having a baby while her own mother is battling addiction, managing a pregnancy despite having diabetes and having a baby born with a rare congenital deformity are only a few of the stories that will be told throughout the season. The series will track these girls through times of great sadness, celebration, heartbreak and drama. Viewers are encouraged to experience the raw emotion of the stories and come to terms with some of the harsh realities that surround teen pregnancy.
