While investigating what appears to be the routine death of a computer hacker in London, partners and enemies, Charlie Hicks and Elaine Renko, inadvertently stumble upon proof that the world is facing certain destruction – in only five years.

Renko investigates evidence uncovered by DCS Roland Bell that suggests both Hicks and Butler were corrupt. A former aid worker who believes the truth about Hard Sun wants to challenge God into revealing himself by targeting victims who help others.

Hicks discovers the full extent of Renko's investigation into the Alex Butler murder. Journalist Will Benedetti istargeted by the spree killer, Thomas Blackwood, because of his personal connection to Hard Sun.

Not the End of the World
The brutal and bloody murder of a night-jogger has dire personal implications for Renko and Daniel. Only Hicks and Renko understand the significance of the man's death, but are unable to honest about what has happened.
EPISODE 6
Sun Day
Tired of operating on the defensive, Hicks and Renko take the fight to Grace's door. DCS Roland Bell arrests Grace and brings her into Lethe Road for questioning, but she will not remain outmanoeuvred.
