Little Malabar and his friend the Octopus go for a nice jaunt in the solar system. But when Octopus falls into the “Eye” of Jupiter, Little Malabar sets out to save him from this sticky situation! These two find themselves in a big stormy whirlwind… Jupiter is a giant planet made of gas. Enormous storms take place on its surface. The largest one forms a dark spot called the “Eye” of Jupiter!
From Earth, Little Malabar and his friend the Lemur can feel the sun heating up… but they also hear it making music! Is there a party going on inside it? These two dive into our star to go meet some atoms. The inside of our star, the Sun is made of atoms, which bump into each other, merge, and produce heat!
The Moon and the Earth invite Little Malabar and his friend the Crane to see how the Moon was formed. It was at a time when countless asteroids were passing through the solar system. Watch out for flying objects! The Moon hasn’t always existed. It was born a long time ago when an enormous rock hit the Earth.
While they’re racing, Little Malabar and his friend the Ostrich cross paths with a comet. It moves very fast and has a surprise in store: when approaching the Sun, the ice around the comet transforms into geysers! Comets are balls of dust and ice that are very old and very fast. As they approach the Sun, they warm up and leave a trail of vapor and dust.
Little Malabar and his friend the Firefly are admiring shooting stars. They wonder if other fireflies are creating this “rain of light”. They’ll have to take a closer look! Shooting stars are not real stars. They are dust particles that come from outer space and that burn upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
Little Malabar and his friend the Mole thought that they had created the largest snowball in the universe. But it’s nothing compared to Jupiter! This planet will show them how it became so enormous. Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system. When it was born, it breathed in all the gas and dust around it.
