Josh and Mearle embark on an epic road-trip down the stunning South Island of New Zealand. In search of interesting locals, their first stop brings them to an eccentric American musician living off the grid near the Kahurangi National Park. The boys then make their way over the epic Takaka Hill towards the stunning Golden Bay region, and it starts to become clear the journey isn’t always going to be smooth sailing.
Josh and Mearle are on their way to the wild West Coast of the South Island, however realise they’ve made a critical error and making it their may not be as easy as they’d hoped. After receiving unsettling news from a local fortune-teller, failing massively at shearing sheep, and spending a long night in a haunted hotel - things are about to grind to a halt, but the laughs are still gearing up.
Josh and Mearle are off to coastal Haast, as they head out on the ocean for some fishing with local legend Josh James and his crazy mate Dan. Next, the boys make their way to the magnificent Milford Sound for an extreme kayaking adventure, however find themselves in a bit of trouble after over-exaggerating their skill-level. In this isolated area things are falling apart, and the trip is about to reach the tipping point.
The end is in sight, and Josh & Mearle want to send the trip out with a bang. In the lush Catlins, the boys are challenged to take on New Zealand’s hottest chilli sauce, before heating up in a different way with some local, homegrown herb. Then it’s off to their final destination, as the boys face their fears with the ultimate showdown: swimming in the ocean with Great White Sharks.
