A homeless Deul Ho makes his way down the streets of Seoul with no source of income, which leads him to live a haphazardous life away from being an attorney. So Mi, on the other hand, is the daughter of Deul Ho's old-time friend Jung Gun. One day, she makes her way to his law firm to ask for help on a case involving her missing father. Deul Ho has a new case to solve.

Deul Ho visits the police station to look for Tae Yoon. The captain was in charge of the Jung Gun's case, so Deul Ho brings up the investigator's case notes. After pointing out the flaws, everything he says becomes discredited after Tae Yoon reminds him of the facts that led him to where he is today. Deul Ho ends up remembering the past, and it's quite a painful one.

After following the case notes of Jung Gun, Deul Ho is led to an abandoned building. That same building is where Ja Gyeong held an interrogation on Jung Gun. For now, Deul Ho needs to figure out where Jung Gun is, in the same place where the victim was given poison. As Deul ho spends his time contemplating Jung Gun, his memories bring him back to 2004.

Deul Ho asks Ki Young a favor on how to go about the case he's handling. However, Ki Young says he's already working on another case about manipulating a multi-level company. On another note, he also finds out that Ja Gyeong is connected to the Googil Group. The woman is also a potential candidate as a leader, who is eyed by their chairman. Deul Ho takes his chance and visits Ja Gyeong.

With Jung Gun dead, Deul Ho is driven even more to bring justice to his case. Deul Ho organizes his team to mobilize and find the evidence for the case ahead. Their eyes are now looking into Jong Bok. Meanwhile, Ja Gyeong remembers her past and looks into her life with her little sister back in the 80s. Back with Deul Ho's team, they're set to fish more data on the drug dealer hurriedly.

Jung Ja, Deul Ho, and the rest of the team find an absurd way to get information about Jong Bok. After squeezing the most out of their client, Deul Ho turns him in at the police station. Deul Ho helps Ji Yoon and tries to get information about Jong Bok too. On the trial day, although he's got new leads with the evidence he garnered for the case, he collapses and delays the trial process.
