Rubirosa

In Paris, Rubi surrounds himself with beautiful women. But in his home country of the Dominican Republic, the brutal general Rafael Trujillo has assumed power. Upon Rubis return, Rubi meets opposition leader Candelaria, and is dealt a tragic blow.

Under pressure from her father, Flor returns home. Rubi joins the opposition, who is plotting an attack on Trujillo. Taking advantage of Trujillos fondness for high society, Rubi decides to play into the generals weakness to infiltrate his ranks.

While being tailed by Trujillos men, Rubi and Flor share their first romantic encounter. Their interaction, however, poses considerable risks for both the playboy and the generals daughter.

Trujillo orders the massacre of Haitian civilians. Flor and Rubi plan to start a business with using her dowry in order to break free from the general. Meanwhile, Trujillos men lay a trap to ensnare Candelaria.

Rubirosa helps Candelaria flee from the Dominican Republic. Flor and Rubi try to start fresh in New York, yet the past and their bad luck continues to follow them.

Under the orders of Trujillo, Rubi is sent to Nazi Germany, where hes to put to use his seduction powers to recruits allies for Trujillos government.
