A Grand Day Out
Disaster strikes 62 West Wallaby Street when Wallace discovers he’s run out of his favourite snack. The only solution is, of course, to build his own space ship, as he's heard that the moon is a very good source of cheese. Accompanied by his long-suffering pet dog Gromit, he sets off on an out-of-this-world escapade where they encounter a strange oven-shaped robot who has his own plans for their rocket… This is the adventure that first introduced Wallace and Gromit, winning the British Academy Award (BAFTA) for Best Animated Film in 1989. It was also nominated for an Oscar, only being beaten by director Nick Park's other nomination that year, Creature Comforts.
